What I personally liked about the previous games was that you were a nobody who near the final act of the game you became somebody. What I'm saying is that Inquisition lacked the gradual character development PCs had in previous games - again understandable by what the game was about.
Even in lvl 1 you're a prisoner who saves an army of faithful with magic who no one understands and suddenly you're called 'the Herald of Andraste'. Certainly, a person of power like the Inquisitor should be like that, but I could live by being 'smaller' in the beginning. In Inquisition I felt detached from everything and everyone. It doesn't matter if you save a sick wife, a house, a village, a town, f**king Val Royeaux, Ferelden or Orlais, the mortal world or the Fade. For me DAO was personal, Loghain abandoned the Grey Wardens, so - even if he was not the actual villain of the game - I had to persevere, to come through - and come through strong- to have justice.ĭAII was again personal since shit happened and you happened to be the only capable person on all Free Marches (even 'prince' Sebastian was but a kid, a spoilt one of it) and they came after your family and friends and city, was way too personal.ĭA Inquisition was.
